This is an example of my feature photography for a local newspaper in 1995. It represents the style of empathy started by Louis Vert (1865-1924), a street photographer, who chose to capture the candid quality of subjects being in the moment with imagery of movement instead of fixed positioning.
This photograph reveals a pure moment when the subjects are caught up in the outdoor concert. They are aware of the camera yet they didn’t allow it to intrude on their enjoyment of the music.
It was also fortunate to find a young subject who had yet to be indoctrinated into the “Say Cheese” style of picture taking.
